This is the second mainline Mario game for the NES, but it's a creative re-skin of another Japanese title. You choose between Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool, each with unique jumps and strength. It's absolutely worth playing for its fresh, dreamlike theme and character variety.
The gameplay is more about strategic platforming than pure speed. You pull vegetables from the ground to throw at enemies, a unique mechanic that changes the feel completely. It's a charming and surprising departure from the first game, making it a must-play classic.
